I feel very lucky to have had a great granny for such a significant chunk of my life, especially one as hilarious and flamboyant as Granny Red Hair. I remember her stories at Christmas, often involving her sisters, cruises and chatting to men far younger than herself!!! She really was a legend. 

Myself, Mum, Granny and Granny Red Hair are all incredibly alike, always turning to humour and hilarity in times of hardship. I could imagine for anyone having to be in a room with more than 2 of us was quite a challenge, let alone all 4. I will miss her, but feel incredibly lucky to have all the memories of Christmases and birthdays together. 

I chuckle to myself that my determined Irish Great Granny got her way right till the end, not quite making it to 100, something she was incredibly adamant she didn't want to do!

I think everyone should aspire to be as determined, independent and funny as Granny was and I am proud to have inherited even some of her qualities.
