My Nan was a lovely lady, and I was very close to her having spent some time living with her when I was a student. She was very strong and determined, attributes which my daughter has usefully gained from her. 

Nan used to encourage me to sow, helping me with tricky things. She loved gardening and my garden is now full of cuttings of her overzealous ground cover plants that I am still trying to control. 

It was always fun playing games with Nan at Christmas as she'd forget the rules and give everything away or answer the other teams questions! Nan cycled round Liphook until she was in her early 80's often being told off by the police for cycling on the pavements, refusing to compete with lorries on the road. Once they even pointed a speed camera out to her and told her she was doing 18mph!

It is a shame she didn't make 100 years old, although she has spent rather a long time saying she didn't want to live to be 100, so she got her wish.

I will miss her terribly.
